Residents of workers’ village in Nasarawa State were thrown into mourning on Sunday following the tragic death of a man, his son and two relations in an auto accident along Lafia-Agyaragu Road.
It was gathered that the man and his family members were on their way to the wedding of his eldest daughter when their car had a head-on collision with a tanker.
An employee of Dalhatu Specialist Hospital told Northern City News on Tuesday that four persons sustained varying degrees of injuries and were admitted at the Accident and Emergency Unit of the hospital.
Confirming the incident, the Nasarawa State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mrs. Susan Alegbe, said five persons died in the crash.
She said, “We rushed all the victims to DASH hospital for medical treatment and the doctor on duty confirmed five dead.”
A source attributed the accident to excessive speed and overtaking at a bend.
